Larkn Bio
Larkn's artist journey is a tale of grit and perseverance from her earliest moments going into a recording studio with a handful of her own songs, to her epic bi-coastal oddyssey across the United States. Her first introduction to music was through classical piano lessons and choir in her local church. Nestled in the middle of Michigan, her first compositions were on piano and songwriting developed later in middle school. A scholarship at Berklee College of Music (Boston) influenced her decision to leave the midwest and eventually relocate to Los Angeles, California (Burbank, Mars Vista, West Hollywood, Hollywood, West Hills) where she interned for Chime Entertainment (Grammy-award winning producer/songwriter Marc Tanner), Judy Stakee (Songwriter/Music Publisher) and Amy Powers (Emmy nominated songwriter), worked on demos in her spare time with feedback from Los Angeles-based engineers and paid the bills from either working as a waitress in Beverly Hills or at Erewhon Natural Foods Market in Calabasas. During her time in Los Angeles, Larkn performed at renowned venues in Hollywood such as The Viper Room, singing back up vocals for popular LA music artist and songwriter Kari Kimmel.

After feeling burnt out and leaving LA altogether, Larkn adopted the role of Presidency of WAVES club (an audio/video club) at Washtenaw Community College where she leads a team of future recording engineers and creatives and created Better From Here Music, (Instagram @bfhmusic) an artist-focused independent record label in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She brought six of her songs into Big Sky Recording in Ann Arbor, Michigan to record an artist EP project titled Make it the Most which comes out in Spring of 2025.
Drawing from elements of singer-songwriter, punk, rock, soul, pop, jazz, folk, classical and country, Larkn places heartfelt lyrics in the center of a diverse musical soundscape. Her classically trained voice has all of the subtle control and nuances of a world-famous singer, combined with a rich, soothing tone that seems to capture the uniqueness of her Michigan roots. After the release of her EP. she is expected to come out with a full-length album of songs inspired by experiences in LA, as she chronically wrote 15 albums of music to be releeased at a later time with more production and financial resources.
